The Mythical Madonnas are a series of portraits of women, real and fictitious, representing the sacredness of the female being, beauty, and feminine values that are often pushed aside in our modern world. They are unpretentious in their materials of newsprint and acrylic paint, but seek to put forward a higher symbolism of female transcendence.
For the most part, they all have gold and sometimes silver tints in their hair or around their heads indicating their angelic and mythical nature. They are representative of archetypes of female power and mysticism and have for purpose to inspire real women to embrace and celebrate their feminity.
